I love this woman's blog. She lives in a beautiful house on the sea in Nova Scotia with her dog, Winn Dixie. Her artwork is charming and uplifting. Enjoy.

This site is a treasure chest full of smart, tongue-in-cheek illustrations. Be sure to read Jennifer's info. Check out her web address, too.

We have known that this was coming ... but Where the Wild Things Are looks even better than I had imagined. I love that there is a back story. I love the music. I love the cinematography. Each shot is frame worthy. I love the graphics. Looks like another movie we'll own.

I think for the next 12 to 14 years I am going to be in the dilemma of wanting for myself the adorable clothes made for little people. I did not have this problem with our first child, being that he is a boy. Makes me wish for my pre-pregnancy body that could wear girl's size 14. Oh well.

This is SUCH a great idea ... Blurb, the online marketing and publishing platform, has created a site to submit your best killed ideas. We all know that the best ideas rarely see the light of day. The real world favors mediocrity.
The Killed Ideas site is fantastically simple. There is a blog to match with lots of fun stuff to read. Boon Design, out of San Fran, created the site. The quote below (Walker Percy, The Moviegoer) is from Boon's site.

These have been all over blog-land ... but I had to feature them. Illustrator M. S. Corley redesigned the Harry Potter books to look like Penguin classics. So cool.

This mom is SO talented. All of her creations are original and beautiful, including her little girl. One of my favorite parts about her blog is that she gives a step by step of how to make each of her items. Be sure to check out all of her companies.

Beautiful type examples at The International Association of master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting (not the most pithy name, huh?).

It occurs to me as I write about more silhouettes that we might have Apple to thank for bringing them to the forefront. After all, the iPod campaign was groundbreaking before it became totally overplayed.
Joseph O. Holmes has beautiful pictures of people in front of the museum of natural history exhibits. I think the subject of the exhibits adds just the right amount of irony.

Geninne is an artist out of Mexico City. She paints colorful birds and pieces of nature. Much of her work reminds me of the stuff my Dad has painted. I love it.

Feeling a bit down and uninspired lately. These cheered me up. All by Anna Melcon Bond.

STA out of Chicago recently posted the Chicago Design Archive for 2008. It is just a reminder of how many great designers are in that city. More eye candy can be found in their archives here.

I no longer have to search Flickr for great design ... someone is doing it for me. Flickr design "is a weblog cataloging interesting and inspiring graphic design pieces posted to flickr."
