One of our amazing neighbors gave D Ladybug Magazine. It is really wonderful. He gets excited each time a new one comes. And we read it over and over and over. This month's cover is absolutely beautiful. Like ... I think I may frame it. Taeeun Yoo uses muted colors and an old school illustration style. So until this print becomes available on his Etsy site ... I may have to put the magazine on our wall.

I have a new favorite blog: Black*Eiffel. She has a great eye. It's kinda Design*Sponge-like ... but with a mom twist. And a bit of graphic design and fashion. I found Studio On Fire via Black Eiffel. What is it with design and Minneapolis? That town has SO many amazing artists. Are they inside so much that they must create beautiful things? Studio On Fire seems to seamlessly mix the traditional with the funky. They have a blog that features all of the work they run through their press. Absolutely gorgeous.

I stumbled onto a great blog today: WellMedicated. Yet another designer who blogs, Andrew Lindstrom has a great eye for design and wonderful compilations (vintage ads, best web designers, vintage t-shirt designs). His blog is also easy to navigate and fun to look at.
I zeroed in on his 50 Amazing Gig Posters Sure to Inspire. Why do I love posters so much???

We are working hard on not buying anything that we don't need. Of course both of our cars have needed work. And diapers are not cheap. So to satiate some of my desire for beautiful things I have been collecting a list of favorites on Etsy. Here are a few.

The type on this site is amazing. And the idea so simple. Keep scrolling down. And roll your mouse over the type. They're links. How cool is that!

Sorry for the brief hiatus ... we had family in town and a few jobs to finish up.
I stumbled across two wonderful blogs today.
Maira Kalman's New York Times blog features her trip down to Obama's inauguration. I can't get enough of her. She is quirky and poetic.
Jolby and Friends is the work of Josh Kenyon & Colby Nichols. Their illustrations take us through the journeys of a boy named William and are are on display in San Diego.

Yet another discovery on Grain Edit. I LOVE the Swell logo. Lots of great work by Geoffrey Wagner.

Hey! I'm one of those. Discovered through Grain Edit, Designers Who Blog is a great website featuring just that ... designers who blog, along with interesting articles around the design world. Today's post picks at the Forbes article about CrowdSpring (a site you must check out ... giving "affordable design" to the world, minus the personal touch of actually talking to a designer). I will agree with DWB ... we are a huggable bunch.

If you like any sort of design you need to visit Design Feast. And while you're there, sign up for their emails, featuring a "webliography of design".
On Design Feast today I discovered NotForPaper: "posts and observations on some of the most exciting design work for screen". Gorgeous websites and design instruction ...

We featured some of Marc's post-it notes last year. He has a blog with his current work. As before, I LOVE his sense of humor. Totally bizarre and relevant at the same time.
